Auburn set a bowl record for points in a single half by scoring 56 points against Purdue in the first half of their bowl matchup. In a top 25 matchup, No. 20 Syracuse overcame No. 16 West Virginia who was without star quarterback Will Grier who sat out with his future NFL career in mind. The other contest between top 25 schools saw No. 13 Washington State’s high powered offense overcome No. 24 Iowa State.

Yesterday’s NBA action featured three games which were upsets in the league. The Chicago Bulls recorded their third win in their last four contests as they defeated the Washington Wizards. The Atlanta Hawks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in an overtime thriller. The third and final upset was a shock victory by the Orlando Magic over the dominant Toronto Raptors.
