No. 11 Texas Tech survived a late surge by Kansas State to maintain their solid start to the season. In a SEC matchup, No. 13 Kentucky was upset by Alabama. In a matchup of two top ten teams, No. 4 Virginia propelled to victory off of a dominant first half against No. 9 Florida State. No. 5 Kansas fell by 17 points to unranked Iowa State in the biggest upset of the day. In the late games, No. 6 Nevada suffered the same fate as Kansas and Kentucky.

The Indianapolis Colts continued their dominant run to end the regular season and learned that their playoff journey will continue in Kansas City while the Houston Texans were unable to advance once again. The  Dallas Cowboys/Seattle Seahawks will have to wait for the result in the Chicago Bears/Philadelphia Eagles game before they will learn their opponent in the next round.

The NBA’s worst team, the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered another blowout loss this time at the hands of the sub-.500 New Orleans Pelicans. The Toronto Raptors overcame the Milwaukee Bucks in a top of the Eastern Conference clash in what was the most intriguing matchup of the night.
